The devices in the series capture bio-signals such as eeg and blood oxygenation measures and forward them via USB or wireless to an Application running on a PC which has a Wiz driver to correctly interpret the signals being sent. The Wiz will typically be used as an element in a bio-feedback training system. USB Drivers are one of the must-have tools to be installed on your PC or Mac. Because of that, your mobile device interacts with your PC.These work as Bridge between your Phone and your computer. The USB drivers help us to connect our phone to the computer and perform tasks like transferring data, syncing your device with a PC.

Minimum Computer Configuration:

  • Windows XP or later
  • Microsoft's DirectX version 9.0
  • 800 MHz Pentium 3
  • 128 MB RAM
  • A graphics card with 3D acceleration is required for some displays
  • A sound card is required for audio output

Recommended Computer Configuration:

  • Windows XP or later
  • Microsoft's DirectX version 9.0b or later
  • 2 GHz Pentium 4 or faster
  • 512 MB RAM or more
  • SoundBlaster or compatible sound card
  • A graphics card with 3D and DVD video acceleration and 64MB or more dedicated video RAM. Integrated video systems that share memory with the processor are not recommended. Assuming your PC meets the other requirements, a fast video card will give you the most bang for the buck. Cards targeted at the gaming or multimedia market with newer chipsets from ATI or NVIDIA should work well. Two cards or a single card with dual independent video outputs are required for dual monitor display.

  • Bug Fix: BioExplorer can now use serial port COM10 and higher to connect to a device.

Installing the ASPEN USB drivers

The ASPEN USB drivers are installed from the ASPEN Installation Disk which comes with each device, by running the ASPEN Device Installer. Normally this is done before connecting an ASPEN device to the PC for the first time, but it can be done afterwards if necessary. The driver installation only needs to be done once.

If an ASPEN device is connected to a PC without prior installation of the drivers from the ASPEN Installation Disk, manual installation is possible in the case of Windows XP and Vista operating systems, using the New Hardware Found wizard. In the case of Windows 7, there is no New Hardware Found wizard, so manual installation is a bit more involved. In any of these cases it's not really necessary - just cancel the New Hardware Found wizard (if open) and run the ASPEN Device Installer from the Installation Disk.

Installation with ASPEN Device Installer

Step 1

Place the ASPEN Installation Disk into the CD-ROM drive. If 'AutoRun' is enabled on that drive then the ASPEN Installation Disk utility will open.

Note: If AutoRun is not enabled then use Start->Run to run 'autorun.exe' on the drive holding the ASPEN Installation Disk. For instance, if the CD-ROM drive is drive E: then run 'E:autorun.exe' to open the ASPEN Installation Disk utility.

Click Install ASPEN Software/USB Drivers to proceed.

Two versions of the USB driver installer are provided, for different types of Windows PC:

  • 32-bit Windows, click Install USB Drivers (32-bit)
  • 64-bit Windows, click Install USB Drivers (64-bit)

Step 2

Drivers Pocket Neurobics USB Devices

The ASPEN Device Installer opens.

Click Next to proceed.

Step 3

The EULA is presented.

Accept, then click Next to proceed.

Step 4

The drivers are installed from the CD.

When installation is complete, the Driver Name and Status are displayed. Click Finish to close the Device Installer. You may now connect any ASPEN device to the PC and drivers will be loaded automatically.

Manual Installation

When an ASPEN device is connected to a PC for the very first time, Windows will detect it. In the case of Windows XP and Vista, the Windows Found New Hardware Wizard automatically opens if the ASPEN USB drivers have not been pre-installed by the ASPEN Device Installer. To proceed, the ASPEN Installation Disk will be needed. Follow the appropriate link below:

Manual USB driver installation on the Windows 7 operating system is a little different... Follow the link below:
