What it is:

Instrument Driver for National Instruments LabVIEW application for all currently available Polhemus trackers except G4: Liberty, Liberty LATUS, Patriot, Patriot WIRELESS, FasTrak.

(G4 has its own dedicated instrument driver.)

PDILV was developed and tested with LabVIEW 2012 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Notes:

·This instrument driver works with Liberty, Patriot, FasTrak, Liberty LATUS, Patriot WIRELESS, and MinuteMan trackers.

·G4 LabVIEW support is provided in a separate instrument driver.

·This version of the instrument driver is based on the Polhemus Developer Interface version 4.2.0, found in the latest Host Software CD released for these trackers.

·This instrument driver can also be obtained from the National Instruments website.

Release Notes:

The Polhemus PDI Instrument Driver has been upgraded and tested against the latest version, 4.2.0 of the Polhemus Developer Interface (PDI).This upgrade allows the instrument driver to manage all Liberty trackers, up to 16 sensors, in addition to the Patriot tracker, the Liberty LATUS, Patriot WIRELESS, and FasTrak.

PDILV was built and tested against 32- and 64-bit versions of LabVIEW 2012.

How to Install:

·The .zip file contains two internal .zip files, PDI_win32.zip and PDI_x64.zip.

·Extract the internal PDI_win32.zip file into the instr.lib folder in your National Instruments LabVIEW 2012 32-bit installation.

·Extract the internal PDI_x64.zip file into the instr.lib folder in your National Instruments LabVIEW 2012 64-bit installation.

Unity Game Engine

The PLStream package gives Unity developers runtime access to 6DOF data captured by Polhemus tracking systems. The package contains the PLStream.cs C# script, an example scene, and a Windows® executable “UnityExport” with supporting libraries. UnityExport connects to your LIBERTY™, PATRIOT™, FASTRAK® or G4™ system and exports raw tracker data to a UDP socket. The script captures the UDP data and parses it to a common interface found in the PLSteam class.

VRPN - Virtual Reality Peripheral Network

For Windows® Platforms: The Polhemus PDI VRPN module works with the following products: G4™, LIBERTY™, LIBERTY™ LATUS™, PATRIOT™, FASTRAK®

Requirements:

The PDI VRPN module requires Polhemus Software Development Kit PDI v4.2.0 or greater to be installed on the build host. The PDI can be installed from your tracker's Host Software CD or by contacting Polhemus Technical Support at: techsupport@polhemus.com

National Instruments LabVIEW™ PDI LabVIEW™ Instrument Driver (PDILV)

The PDILV instrument driver works with the following Polhemus products: LIBERTY™, LIBERTY™ LATUS™, PATRIOT™, PATRIOT Wireless™ and FASTRAK® tracking systems.

PDILV is based on the Polhemus Developer Interface (PDI) software development kit.Most functions available in the PDI are represented by Virtual Instruments (VIs) in the PDILV Instrument Driver.
